Dust Safety
Dust safety is about understanding the risks of airborne dust and why controlling it is essential for your health.
- Dust from activities such as cutting, grinding, drilling, and demolition is common on our sites.
- Breathing in hazardous dust can cause serious long term health issues, including lung disease and breathing problems.
- Many dust related illnesses are preventable by using the correct controls such as dust suppression, extraction, and appropriate respiratory protection.
Exclusion Zone Safety
Exclusion zone safety is about keeping people out of areas where there is a higher risk of injury.
- Exclusion zones are commonly required for activities such as lifting, demolition, excavation, mobile plant operation, and overhead work.
- Entering an exclusion zone can result in serious injury or death from falling objects, moving plant, or unexpected equipment movement.
- Many serious incidents can be prevented by clearly establishing exclusion zones, using physical barriers and signage, and ensuring everyone understands and respects them.
